Sorry 'bout ya...
Because I sit in front of a computer and talk on the phone all day and generally spend an hour or two each night on my iPad, I have made it a habit over the past several years to "un-connect" on the weekends. I tend to neglect the Internet, emails, even text messages and phone calls. I usually have the "camera only" app for my phone on Saturdays and Sundays!
So...therefore, you probably wont' read a post from me on the weekends. I might surprise you one day (that would surprise me, too!), but don't count on it.
That being said...we had a really nice long weekend!! I hope you did, too.

Randomly Hysterical
A friend of mine had this post on her facebook feed the other day and when I followed the link and read the comments, I laughed...a lot...ok, a whole lot. Some people are really witty!! I'm sure some of you have seen this...

So...here's a look at our weekend.
Friday afternoon, we went to the pep rally at school. Roo loved the cheerleaders!!
We went to the football game on Friday night. This was the kids' first high school football game. And, with a 7:00 kick-off, it was a late night for us!!

| love love love those cheerleaders!! |
Um...High school football has gone and gotten itself SERIOUS!!! Check out that huge helmet that the team runs out of!! Crazy! The coaches wear the same headsets that Saban wears. It is intense! And the kids!! The kids wear uniforms all week, so the football game is like a fashion show. They are so dressed up. Crazy!
She might sport her school cheerleader uniform, but her heart bleeds crimson and white - she would only take her Bama shaker and she would only yell "Roll Tide!!"

On Saturday, we got up early, rent for a run and then headed downtown to the farmer's market.

GAME TIME!!!
Like I said on Friday, we have a tradition of gathering at my parents' house to watch Bama play and this weekend was no different. There were about 18 people there (and, yes, we even had the Auburn game on in the other den). We were loud and obnoxious and we had a great time. Our boys looked awesome, too!! This is going to be an amazing season!!
We'll take that...all. day. long.

Miles Today: 4.5
Miles This Year: 1519.0
Goal for the year: 1000 (so there...in your face!)
Got up and ran. Needed to run off the celebratory cocktails from the night before. Ran a little bit too long, because we were this late for church this morning. Slipped in right after the choir. So glad we made it, though. I love church (for so many reasons)!! It makes my soul feel so good to know that I just need to remember to relax. There is a Man with a plan looking out for me.
I usually keep a Bible verse written across the bottom of my weekly planner. I also carry around a spiral notebook with me everywhere for the random notes of my day/lists/lists/lists/lists/lists/etc (did I mention I am OCD about lists?). I must have my weekly verse written down about 25 times a week.

| what does it say about me that it reallllllly bothers me that some of those letters are capitalized and some are not!!! I mean...if you are going to be repetitive, be repetitive, right?? source |
Anyway...back to the point. This week, it is not a verse but a prayer from Thomas More and is it very appropriate for Labor Day.
The things, Good Lord, that we pray for, give us the grace to labor for. Amen.
Don't you just love that?? I do.
God is good.

Miles Today: 4.0 (pushing the kids)
Miles This Year: 1523.0
Goal for the year: 1000 (so there...in your face!)
Oh well, can't win 'em all, huh?
After a long and go-go-go weekend, we had the kids home by 4:00. I had a nice, home-cooked, healthy dinner on the table by 5:15 and the kids were in the bed and asleep before 5:45. Glass of wine in hand by 6:00 and I had my happy little fanny in bed by 9:00.
Done. And. Done.
Questions for today...
Do you live in an area with a good farmer's market?
Any interesting stories from your Labor Day weekend?
Did you go to Dallas this weekend? Atlanta??
Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
